April 2003

Here's our largest striper of the new season, a 48 inch whopper, caught April 30 by Omar Biagas of Ava Construction Services.  This one deserves a space over the mantle!
Here's the rest of the Ava crew...
A closeup of one of our parachutes from Tyler's in Chesapeake Beach.
And here we have Chief Cole and son Colby, who's cranking on a big one.  Happy Birthday Chief!
The results of a long battle...
And here we have Buddy and Mrs. Williams -- she caught the largest rockfish of the day, a 39 incher.  For more photos, click here.
Here's the Mrs. Hill crew with their limits of rockfish to 37 inches.
Here's Captain Drew and Addie, who caught the largest fish of the day.
Here's the Tim Wratten (far right) crew, showing off their fine catch of large rockfish.
And here's the youngest crew member, struggling to hold up his catch.
And the Pleu crew of April 25 with their catch of fine stripers.
Here's a closeup of the Pleu crew's largest.
And here we have the Andy White (far right) crew with an excellent day's catch of large rockfish from April 24.
Here's the Ed Apple crew with another fine catch.
And the Buddy Duvall (orange jacket) crew with their limit of stripers.
Here's Captain Drew lending a hand to one happy angler...
And a better shot of Buddy...
Here's the Chief Cole crew of April 22 with their limits of rockfish.
Here's the Fred Gers (2nd from right) crew of April 22.  It's important to note that Larry did not lose a fish for perhaps the first time on numerous trips on the Worm...
Here's the Bob Nash (far right) crew with another limit catch of stripers.
Here we have Mike Fox and his fiance Kathy, who caught a beautiful 42 inch, 40 pound trophy striper, largest of the day.  Click here for more photos.
Here's the Ron Crabbe (2nd from right) with their limit catch of stripers to 37 inches.
And the Robert Young (2nd from right) crew with another limit catch of rockfish.  Click here for more photos.
What a beautiful sight -- sunrise on a reasonably calm day during mid-April not far from Chesapeake Beach.
And here we have Captain Drew with our first fish of the new season.  Everything points to a great trophy season in our part of the Bay.
